More Than Sewing—A Path to Independence

 

For many of the women who come to our centers, learning to sew is much more than learning a skill. It is an opportunity to begin again.

Some of the women we serve are widows who have had to carry the responsibility of providing for their families. Others have never had the opportunity to earn an income of their own.

Through our training, these women are learning to use their skills to create an income and support their households.

For some, this is the first time they are becoming self-supporting.

For others, they are becoming the breadwinner of their family.

And for many, this new opportunity brings something equally important—hope, dignity, confidence, and a sense of purpose.

Our sewing centers are conducted within local church buildings, creating an environment where women can learn practical skills while experiencing the love and care of Jesus.

Women who come to learn sewing are welcomed, encouraged, and valued.

As they learn, they also have the opportunity to experience the message of hope found in Jesus Christ. We are not simply teaching women how to sew—we are seeking to demonstrate the love of Christ through practical service.

 

We believe the Gospel should be seen as well as heard.

 

By meeting practical needs and building relationships, we have the opportunity to show women that they are valuable, loved, and created with purpose.

 

250 Women Have Graduated—And We Are Just Getting Started

 

We are celebrating the 250 women who have already completed our sewing training, but we believe this is only the beginning.

God is opening doors for ICBM to expand this ministry into new regions across India, bringing training and opportunity to women who have had very few avenues to improve their economic situation.

Our vision is to see more women equipped with skills, more families strengthened, and more communities transformed.
